Reminds me of a samurai fanfare into the dust of a destroyed world. Very sombre with a hint of optimism on the horizon. Samurai is also probably wearing cowboy boots.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Cowboys sound better suited to this compared to Samurais, but I love the idea of a Samurai wearing boots. Smexy.

It's kinda like elevator rap or bustling poetry. The introspective rhetoric is so imaginative and diverse; the literature is hot. I'm not sure if I dig the instrumental for this one (in consideration that it is intended to be "spoken poetry". The beat is dope af tho, but I didn't think it helped display the poetry. But when I listen to this with a more hip hop ear, it sounds on point like spots on the dog. Well no, some spots are on, others take some time to fill in. Overall, I enjoyed this. Meter was good and the imagery through the roof, almost, but you def busting some shingles, yo. Propsicles.

thank you, Mao.

peace thru pieces.

I've heard quite a few FF7 inspired beats, but this is this first one I've heard that sounds like it could be in the game (rather than an generic hip hop sample grab instrumental). The subtle keys on that familiar jingle, mixed on top grimy bass and sick drums makes for a intriguing listening from beginning to end. Dope AF

S-Rock responds:

I appreciate the listen! I can't do samples(just preference) so I started from scratch to create it as best I could. I never really hear hip hop beats used with ff7 that aren't generic sounding to the hip hop community.

So chill. Real cool sounds here; but this is far from frigid. This is smooth blues with a spot of sun in between the clouds. I diggn it. Mixing sounds tight too, although, its seems like there might be more emphasis/presence on the highs n mids or melodic elements, while the lows/bass/perc gets overpowered by some of the swells from the strings, this is probably just preference, so grain o' salt that bia bia. Sick stuff here.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks Mao! Mixing is a nightmare forreal. So hard for me to get a good balance. Makes it confusing cause I'll have my sub on, and the bass and other lows sound great, but bad on regular speaker setups. So yeah it's either-or usually.

But glad you liked it and thanks for the good review!

Cool jam. Liked the vocal samples on this one. Went hard. Solid one here.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Danke!

Be you until you've grown to value and accept the you, you have become through your journey in life; when you're comfortable and cool being that you, then find you some other person that digs you for you, (it's a two way streak though, so make sho you dig that person at that person's chill, natural, or dare I say, instinctual level . if that checks, rock on, if not, then it's gonna be awkward prolly).

Awkward. the Opposite of this beat, this right here, so much yes! Not often do I appreciate the sound of water, but you made that ambience jam hard here. Drums, so on point! I get a very Metroidee vibe from this. The flutter ringtone tone shit, was kinda shit, but I kinda liked it and thought it added to the overarching musicality of this.

But, since you gloated about playing GameCube with a greasy AF controller (in an unrelated incident and in no way connected to this song), out of principle, I had to dock a notch on the rating. 4.5 Stars.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

I agree that I have to figure myself out first then bring someone into the fold. I'm also lonely as hell right now, so I think having someone to pal with will be a good thing. If things go south later, so be it.

The 'phone' is a little poorly produced, but it's not horrible. I forget the name of the synthezier plugin I used to create it.

When did I gloat about my GameCube controller being greasy? I do not recall doing so.

This is insane, sounding. The juxtaposition between the almost cheerfully sorrow hook and the gritty grime verses is so interesting here. Lyrics on point. Loving the general delivery and vocal projection; very dynamic and exciting. Flow was good; although it seemed to falter a bit near the end of the verse; that combined with the "to make them, oh jesus, uh" line sounded more like it was read, rather than possessing a more conversational/'theatrical tone to it (which you display throughout this song already), maybe with a more sassy or emphasized "UH?" it would communicate the intentional meaning more clearly.
Dope track overall, wasnt feeling the beat at first, but it's grown on me. Both your voice and this beat go well together.

NeoAlchemist247 responds:

To start, I absolutely MUST tell you that I had to look up the definition of Juxtaposition and I'm impressed with your usage of that word. Rappers' vocabulary never ceases to amaze me.

I want to thank you for your incredibly in-depth review. I don't get them as often as I used to, and they really do wonders to shed light on what I'm doing right as well as what I can improve. Really, thank you, man.
