"wouldn't bust a grape in fruit fight"

that's one of my favourite lines from Jay-Z. The vocals on this track are little unrefined. T.E.K's part isnt terrible, its got "swagger" and attitude to it but it lacks explosiveness it seems. Your part flow nicely but the lyrics are too straight-forward and lack that creative edge (I've heard those lyrics already from different MCs). I'm not a fan of violent/gun based hip hop, so my opinion is a little biased, but thats what I think. If you can back up the message your presenting, then I have no problem with this track. But thats something only you would know. This is still music though, keep doing your thing man! peace

Always appreciate the reviews Mickey, you give real ones. As for the creative edge, I suppose my only defense is to say that once in a while you just gotta write that kinda low-end track to make you want to keep getting better LOL. It is simplistic, however getting complex on a track like this is kinda...I don't know what the word I'm looking for is...backwards I guess? I mean, the track is simple, so the words came out simple. I don't know LOL, but always appreciate the reviews fam, and I'm working on it as we speak.

2 geniuses

Those other kats that reviewed this down don't really seem to understand the definition of music. Your music is actaully worth listening too. Honestly, I have to listen to your tracks a couple of times before I can understand whats being said; this isn't a knock on you though. My favourite hip hop artists are the MCs that make me think, ex: Atmosphere, Ill Bill, Aesop Rock. That being said...
This track is alright, if it's an attack on a specific person I can't tell exactly who it is directed at (ambiuty is key sometimes). The chorus is a little difficult too understand (clarity of vocal) but the flow-through out the entire song- is tight. Right on man! peace

NimbusTheGeneral responds:

Surprisingly this wasn't aimed at anyone. I just let InGenius write his verse and tried to copy his flow on a couple of parts, and it all came out like this. The chorus I can see, which he did clean up in a radio edited version.

And if you have to listen to my tracks a couple of times to catch what I'm saying then I must be doing something right.

Always appreciate the review fam.

Eurythmics respect!

When I was 6 years old, "Sweet Dreams" was my favourite song, my friends made fun of me. You remix is really tight man. It has a really nice atmospheric sound to it, the intro is very ambient and trippy. The claps sound a little off (as you mentioned), I can't wait to hear this once you got them mastered! Nice work man! peace

Creative, intelligent and sweet!

Wow, this collab is insane. You guys are real lyricists and artists. I'm just blown away by this track; using words with the same starting letter in consecutive order really worked. Wow.

NimbusTheGeneral responds:

Appreciate it fam. Check out some of the other tracks on the page. You won't be disappointed.

Damn thats funktastic!

I love the funk bro! This track needs a little bit of fine tuning, but its tight. I dont really like the snare roll @0:19. Right on man! peace

OMG!

I think I love you now!

Trippy!

The vocal samples sound very eerie. I dont know if this is exactly Hip Hop but its still pretty good, Im really digging the ambience of it. I'm trippy ballz!

I got a few songs up, check em out man, let me know what you think.

peace

Different approach...

This is a little different from your other submissions, its not my favourite but the best thing an artist can have is diversity. The lyrics are clever, of course Im digging the Mortal Kombat "Finish him" reference. I noticed you didn't add a filter on your vocals, it sounds a lot better without that mechanical b.s. The beat is alright (not great though) and the high pitched " thing" sounds off and wierd to my ear. Overall its a pretty good track, still Ipod worthy! Keep on hip hoppin! peace

Im sorry...

but I just can't imagine a Mortal Kombat track not being hype and energetic. That being said, this track flows like fluid ( I just gotta ignore the Mortal Kombat angle). The piano rolls though the entire piece very smoothly. Overall this is an excellent track, but again, Mortal Kombat needs to be intense for me (so I gotta go a little low on my review, but you get a 5 for sure!). peace

Slick

I am a fan of expressive lyrics, not angry/desprerate delivery. Those other kats who commented on your "scared of the mic" delivery can go listen to their fake commercial music. Keep doing your thing, its you, it works. peace

xplicitlyricist responds:

Thanks man. Appreciate that shit.
You make music?
Hit me up and keep listening.

Its what I do for fun.
